Description
This building is a bank barn located about 12 metres east of Fursdon Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble and has a scantle slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The barn is built into the bank at the rear and features a shippon on the ground floor with a loft above.
The exterior is two storeys high. The front has a central entrance approached by steps leading to double doors that are sheltered by a pentice hood. To the right of the entrance, there is a doorway with a cambered head, and to the left, a lower double doorway with a timber lintel. The left end of the barn has an addition with a 9-pane light at the front. The right end features a single-storey lean-to and a screen wall, with a ventilation slit at the apex of the gable. The rear of the barn has a wide central door and a 4-pane light to the left, both with cambered heads. On the first floor, there is a half-glazed loading door with a pitched hood. The interior has not been inspected.
