Description
Menabilly House is a country house dating from around 1600, originally built for the Rashleigh family, and mostly rebuilt between 1710 and 1715 for Philip Rashleigh. The south front is constructed of coursed Pentewan stone and features slate hipped roofs behind a parapet with a moulded cornice. The house has a large plan organized around a central courtyard and consists of two storeys with a six-bay front, where the central three bays project forward. It has old sash windows with glazing bars and a central pilastered doorway topped by a broken pediment. Inside, there is a good quality staircase, plaster ceilings, and panelled rooms from the 1715 period, along with likely many other interesting features, particularly in the principal south and east ranges.
