Description
Pawton Millhouse is a millhouse that has been converted into a private house, dating from around the mid-19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with gable ends and brick end stacks. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance, and it includes two front reception rooms that are heated by end stacks, with a dairy and kitchen located at the rear.
The exterior is two stories high and has a symmetrical front with two windows. The windows are 19th-century hornless 16-pane sashes, and there are brick segmental arches above the openings. A 20th-century rendered porch with a plank door is present at the entrance. The rear elevation features 19th-century two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected, but the front and rear elevations are noted to be unaltered and complete.
