Description
Seaureaugh Mill and the detached barn immediately to the west are a mill and granary/barn likely built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with remodeling occurring around the late 19th century. The barn dates to the early 19th century. The structures feature granite rubble walls with granite dressings. The mill's roof has collapsed; it was hipped on the left side and had a gable end adjoining cottages on the right. The barn has a roof covered with a few scantle slates and is half-hipped.
The mill has a rectangular plan with intact but decaying machinery, including an overshot wheel located in a wheel pit on the left. To the left of the wheel pit is a two-storey granary/bank barn, which has stone steps on its right-hand side. There are central opposing loading winnowing doorways. In front of the left side of the barn is a single-storey range that contains four stables or pig sties.
Both the barn and the mill are two storeys tall and have symmetrical two-window fronts with central doorways. The barn is lower than the mill and features a first-floor loading doorway. The mill has tall first-floor windows and two floors behind, with original openings boarded over. An eight-pane window is visible on the ground floor to the right of the mill. The iron waterwheel retains its central hub and outer rim.
Inside the mill, the original floors and machinery remain, including iron wheels with wooden teeth, a sack hoist, and an auger for filling sacks. The millstones were concealed by fallen debris at the time of the survey.
