Description
This building is a barn located approximately 15 meters southeast of Saveock Manor Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It features painted killas rubble walls with wooden lintels and a hipped roof made of corrugated asbestos, which was originally covered with scantle slate. The barn has a rectangular plan and is built into the bank at the rear (south). The first floor is used for grain storage and winnowing, situated above an animal shelter and wagon store in the basement.
The north front of the barn is irregular, with a later building at right angles to the left that adjoins and partly blocks the front. There is a doorway on the left and a loading doorway above it. To the right, there is a wider doorway with a wide loading doorway above, along with a small window on the ground floor between the doorways. On the far right, there is a ventilation slit to the first floor above each doorway. Pigeon holes can be found under the eaves. The interior has not been inspected. This barn is included for its group value.
