Schoolroom At Approximately 500 Metres East Of Church Of Saint Towennac

The schoolroom, located approximately 500 metres east of the Church of Saint Towennac, dates from the early 19th century and was remodeled around the mid-19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a grouted scantle slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a rectangular plan, likely consisting of two rooms, with the larger room situated to the left of the entrance. A later 19th-century lean-to is added at the far left.

The schoolroom is a single-storey structure with a three-window front facing northeast. There is a gable-ended porch to the right of the middle, with a doorway located in the left-hand wall of the porch. To the left of the porch are two original window openings that have heightened sills and mid-19th-century 24-pane hornless sashes. To the right of the porch, and adjacent to a straight joint in the wall, is a late 19th-century 12-pane horned sash window. The rear of the building features windows that correspond to those at the front, including two original 30-pane hornless sashes opposite the 24-pane sashes and a 12-pane sash opposite its counterpart at the front. The interior has not been inspected.
