Description
This is a mid-19th century lodge built of rendered and painted stone rubble, with a rag slate roof and gable ends. A rendered brick stack is located on the right-hand side. The lodge follows a simple, single-depth plan with two rooms, the right-hand room being heated by an end stack. A small 19th-century porch is situated to the left of centre, and a 20th-century glazed porch has been added, forming an angle between the earlier porch and the right-hand room.
The single-story lodge has an asymmetrical three-window facade. A gabled 19th-century porch with a narrow lancet window featuring diagonal leaded lights and cusped slate bargeboards is on the left. A 19th-century plank door is recessed within a 20th-century lean-to porch on the right-hand side of the earlier porch. Other windows include a 19th-century casement to the left, a two-light 19th-century casement to the right, and a window in the right-hand gable end, all with diagonal leaded lights. The interior of the lodge was not inspected.
