Description
Penscombe Cross is a cottage dating from the mid to late 18th century, with its eaves raised in the early 19th century and some minor later alterations. The exterior is made of painted roughly coursed slate-stone, with cob used for the raising of the eaves and beneath the corrugated-iron cladding on the left end. The cottage has a half-hipped slate roof and a square plan, standing two storeys tall. There is a 19th-century multi-paned casement window on each floor to the left and right of a central 20th-century lean-to porch. The ground-floor windows have slate drips, while the first-floor windows cut through the original eaves line. A prominent integral end stack with slate drips is located on the left side.
