Description

This chest tomb, located approximately 23 meters south of the west end of the Church of Saint Mylor, dates from the early 19th century. It features a dressed granite base with granite monoliths on each side and a sloping granite monolith lid that has an inscribed slate insert with a moulded border. The tomb is rectangular in shape. The lid bears an incised inscription commemorating M. Henry Sara, who died in 1802 at the age of 86. Additionally, the remains of Thomas Reed of Trevissome, who died in 1823 at the age of 68 and was a friend and executor of M. Henry Sara, are also deposited beside this tomb.
