Description
Trevega Cottage is a house, likely a farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a steep scantle slate roof. The building has dressed granite stacks over granite coped gable ends with kneelers. The layout consists of a two-room plan with a central lobby or cross passage, along with an integral shallow rear outshut that contains service rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a slightly asymmetrical three-window west front, which was probably rebuilt or remodelled in the 18th century or early 19th century. There are chamfered lintels above the ground floor openings, and a 17th-century sill from a former two-light mullioned window is located at the first floor on the right. A slate hood over the doorway is supported by reused 17th-century mullions. The entrance features a four-panel door, with the top panels later glazed, while the ground floor has 20th-century windows and the first floor has late 19th-century four-pane horned sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
