Description

The converted carriage house and stables, along with the arched entrance to the estate yard, are located to the east of Werrington Park. Likely built in the 18th century, these estate buildings are now used as garages, storage, and for domestic purposes. The structure is partly rendered and painted stone rubble, featuring a moulded plinth at the rear and a slate roof with hipped ends.

The overall plan is U-shaped, with a domestic range in the center and garages on the ground floor of the left wing. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window front. The central range includes complete 18th-century sashes, with 24-pane sashes on the ground floor and 16-pane sashes above. A 20th-century porch is situated in the center. In the right wing, the ground floor openings are taller and have dressed stone flat arches. There is a 19th-century plank door with a glazed light above to the left, flanked by two 18th-century 24-pane sashes in the center and right. Above these, two 18th-century 16-pane sashes are positioned beside a central blind 16-pane window. The garage on the left side features tall plank doors with a moulded slate string above.

The adjoining arch, likely from the 19th century, is made of stone rubble that is partly rendered and painted. It has a round arch at the southwest entrance to the estate yard, situated between the carriage house and stables and the estate office. Inside, the ground floor of the garage has a high ceiling supported by massive floor joists on moulded corbelled stone brackets.
