Description
Footbridges over the River Kenwyn and Leat, possibly from the 18th century, consist of two sections connected by causeways. They feature granite slab walkways supported by rubble abutments, with intermediate piers made of granite monoliths. The bridge over the river has three openings, with one opening separated by a pier approximately 3.5 meters wide from the other two, and a pair of short granite piers supporting the paired openings. About 20 meters to the south is the two-opening span over the leat, constructed similarly to the river spans. At each end, the causeways extend to road level, with asphalt surfaces. On the east side of the footways, there are runs of iron tube rail, likely from the 19th century; the leat span has five standards, while the river span has three plus five standards. This structure represents a later version of the clapper bridge, with the very deep footway slabs suggesting an 18th-century date rather than 19th century.
