Description
The Dobuz tomb, located approximately 1 meter west of the west end of the Mission Church of St Mary, is a chest tomb dating from 1802. It commemorates John Theopilus Dobuz, the second son of Lewis Charles and Wilmot Dobuz, who died on 11 October at the age of 4. The tomb is square in plan and constructed from tall dressed granite. It features inscribed oval marble panels on two sides, all set within a granite ashlar plinth that once supported an iron fence. The design includes a moulded base and a moulded cornice that is broken out over corner pilasters.
