Description

Buckshead House is an early 19th-century farmhouse that has been slightly extended later. The original house is faced with stucco and painted slate hanging on the ground floor, topped by an asbestos slate roof. The left wing has a half-hipped scantle slate roof. The building has a single-depth plan and two storeys, with a three-window front to the original part. The front of the original house is symmetrical, with a central doorway on the right side. The doorway is within an open porch featuring moulded entablature over square chamfered posts. It has a 6-panel door and original hornless 16-pane sashes. The taller wing to the left has quoin strips and a moulded architrave to a round-headed window opening, now containing a 20th-century fixed light with thick glazing bars. A smaller, similar window has been inserted into the ground floor of this wing. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
