Description
Trevellick Guest House is an early 19th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a guest house, with some 20th-century alterations. It is built of slatestone rubble with granite dressings and features a hipped scantle slate roof, with the front slope covered in asbestos slate and lead rolls at the hips and ridge. The building has deep bracketed eaves and a stack on the right side with a brick shaft, while the stack on the left has been removed.
The plan is double depth, with a central entrance leading to principal rooms of equal size on the front right and left, and service rooms at the rear. There is an outshut to the rear left, likely added in the late 19th century, which is heated from the left-side stack.
The exterior is two storeys high, set on a chamfered granite plinth, and has a symmetrical three-window front. The ground floor features a central 20th-century plank door with an overlight, flanked by 19th-century 16-pane sashes, all with granite lintels. The first floor has a central 19th-century 12-pane sash and 16-pane sashes on either side, with granite voussoirs above. The right side of the building is blind, while the left side includes a 20th-century door with an overlight and a cambered stone arch, along with a 20th-century window at ground floor left.
To the left, there is a single-storey outshut with a stack featuring a brick shaft. At the rear, all windows are from the 19th century; the first floor has two 16-pane sashes on the left and one on the right, along with a tall 24-pane sash that lights the stair, all with flat stone arches. The ground floor to the left has a 25-pane sash with a flat stone arch. To the right, the outshut has a hipped scantle slate roof and includes a 20th-century two-light casement at the rear and inner side. A 20th-century glazed porch is set in the angle of the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
