Description

SW 73 SW CONSTANTINE

5/65 Kitchen garden wall immediately - east of Trewardreva House

GV II

Kitchen garden walls of Trewardreva House qv. C18. Brick in a random bond with brick capping, the plinths are stone rubble. The outside facing of the walls and the south west and south east sides are entirely stone rubble. Parts of the walls have rounded granite caping. On the west side there is a gateway with granite ball finials probably reused. The wall encloses a large approximately square shaped garden with a smaller walled enclosure in the west corner by the house. The garden slopes down to the east away from the house. It was probably originally a kitchen garden and orchard but is now partly planted as a pleasure garden at the top end near the house.
