Description
Bossiney Methodist Church is a Bible Christian Chapel, now serving as a Methodist Chapel, built in 1860, with a datestone indicating this date. The church features slate-stone rubble construction, with part of the left side elevation being slate-hung. It has a slate roof with gable ends and a rectangular plan, with an entrance through a likely later 19th-century porch at the front gable end. The gable end facing the road has a low porch made of slate-stone rubble, topped with a slate gabled roof and a 2-centred brick arch on the left side. Above the porch is the datestone.
The left-hand side elevation includes two 2-centred arched window openings with horned sashes that have intersecting glazing bars. There is a probable school room extension from the 20th century attached to the rear left. The right-hand side elevation features four hornless sashes with intersecting glazing bars and crown glass. Inside, the chapel was reseated in 1907, during which a new rostrum and communion rails were installed.
