Description

No 1 on Market Street is an early 19th-century building located in St Austell. It is constructed of stucco and has three storeys. The façade features two sash windows set in moulded cases, which do not have glazing bars. There is a large modern shop front that does not fit with the building's character. The building occupies a corner position with a curved angle and has overhanging eaves, topped by a slate hipped roof. It is included in the listing for its group value, as it forms a group with No 1, the Queen's Head Hotel, and the Market House.
