Description
The Boatman Inn is a public house located dramatically below the Royal Albert Bridge. It features a front that dates from the mid-19th century, while its core originates from the 16th century, as indicated by a datestone from 1595 that is now incorporated into the shortened south gable. The building is two storeys high and constructed of stucco, with the ground floor having a channelled appearance. It has a balustraded parapet and two plain sash windows. The central entrance is highlighted by a doorpiece with a cornice. The left corner of the building has been sliced back to accommodate modern windows, and the interior has been altered.
