Description

The Post Office is an early 18th-century house that has been adapted for use as a Post Office. It is stuccoed and has two storeys with five windows featuring double-hung sashes, glazing bars, moulded architraves, and cill brackets. Above the doorway, there is an ornamental shell hood. The building has a modillion eaves cornice and a steep pitched roof that includes three pedimented dormers. It serves as a prominent termination to Fore Street. The Post Office, along with Nos 2 and 4 and Dolphs Cottage, forms a cohesive group.
