Description
The Littleton monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 2 metres south of the tower of the Church of St Michael. It dates from the 19th century and is made of greenstone with a slate inscription plate. The chest is constructed from coursed dressed stone and sits on a moulded stone plinth. It features a heavy flat slate lid with an inscription, which is likely a later addition to an earlier chest. The monument commemorates Nicholas Littleton, who died in 1840, and his wife Thomazin.
