Description

Busveal Farmhouse is probably an early 18th-century farmhouse, altered and enlarged subsequently. It is constructed of uncoursed granite rubble with a thatched roof and brick chimneys. The building presents a two-unit linhay plan and is arranged over two storeys, appearing almost symmetrical. The doorway is offset to the right of the centre and is sheltered by a modern, gabled brick porch. There are two large square windows on each floor, each composed of two four-pane lights under a four-pane top-hung casement. The thatch wraps around the extruded gable chimney stacks. The left end of the front wall extends slightly beyond the gable end and incorporates a small lintel, suggestive of a former door. A short gabled extension, housing a kitchen, projects from the right-hand gable wall. A full-height linhay is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
