Description
Tregairewoon Farmhouse is a small farmhouse dating from the 18th century. It features rendered stone rubble and cob walls, topped with a wheat reed thatched roof and brick chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a two-room plan and stands two storeys high. The west front has two windows that are nearly symmetrical. There is a 20th-century top-glazed door set within a closed gable-ended porch, which is slightly off-centre to the right. The original openings contain 19th-century six-pane sash windows with slate sills and slate weatherings above the ground floor lintels. There are also 20th-century lean-tos added to the left and right of each gable end. Inside, the farmhouse is said to retain its original floor and roof structure, along with some old planked doors. The fireplaces are partly blocked, and one is reported to have once included a bread oven.
