Description
ST LEVAN TRENDRENNEN SW 32 SE 7/253 Trendrennen Farmhouse including front garden walls and adjoining 5.3.86 mounting block GV II
Farmhouse, including adjoining front garden walls. Datestone 1762 and initials RH (R. Hocking). Granite ashlar front and granite rubble with granite dressings. Scantle slate roof sweeping lower at rear. C19 brick chimneys over original granite coped gable ends. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters. Plan: Double depth plan. 2 rooms at the front; kitchen/living room on the left, parlour on the right, entrance hall between leading to stair hall between rear service rooms within later outshut. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window south west front with doorway (right of middle) central to fenestration. C20 door. Circa late C19 horned sashes at right-hand gable end. Granite coped walls surround rectangular courtyard in front of the house. On either side of a gateway (which aligns with doorway of house) the walls ramp up to a higher level. On the right the walls project in front and then return to a partly enclosed an area on the right of the house. Adjoining on the left of this wall is a rubble mounting block with 5 dressed granite steps. Interior not inspected.
