Trendrennen Farmhouse Including Front Garden Walls and Adjoining Mounting Block

Trendrennen Farmhouse, including the adjoining front garden walls and a mounting block, dates from 1762 and features the initials RH, likely referring to R. Hocking. The building is constructed of granite ashlar at the front and granite rubble with granite dressings. It has a scantle slate roof that slopes lower at the rear, with 19th-century brick chimneys above the original granite coped gable ends. The gutters are made of cast iron in an ogee section.

The farmhouse has a double depth plan with two rooms at the front: a kitchen/living room on the left and a parlour on the right, with an entrance hall in between that leads to a stair hall and rear service rooms within a later outshut. The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window front facing southwest, with a doorway located to the right of the center. The door is from the 20th century, and there are late 19th-century horned sash windows at the right-hand gable end.

Surrounding the house is a granite coped wall that encloses a rectangular courtyard at the front. The walls rise to a higher level on either side of a gateway that aligns with the house's doorway. On the right, the walls project forward and then return to create a partly enclosed area next to the house. Adjacent to the left of this wall is a rubble mounting block with five dressed granite steps. The interior of the farmhouse has not been inspected.
