Description
Tregoose Cottage is likely two semi-detached cottages from the 18th century, although they may have been remodeled from an older house. The exterior features painted rubble and rendered cob walls, with slate sills and wooden lintels. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos, with brick chimneys at the gable ends, and there is a scantle slate roof on the gable-ended rear wing. The original plan probably consisted of two similar single-cell cottages with entrances towards the middle. There is a shallow projection at the rear middle, possibly for a stair. The left-hand cottage was extended in the 19th century with a service wing at right angles and an outshut at the rear left, resulting in an overall irregular L shape, making it function as one house. The building has two storeys and a regular four-window front facing northwest, with a doorway to the right of the middle that has a 20th-century door. The original doorway to the left of the middle is now blocked and has a window instead. The windows are late 19th-century four-paned horned sashes. The interior has not been inspected. This structure was likely a pair of farm workers' cottages and is located beside the former farmhouse, No. 1 Tregoose Cottage, facing in the opposite direction.
