Description

The footbridge, located alongside a ford, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from serpentine rubble and dressed granite. The bridge features two spans that are bridged with dressed granite slabs, with the wider span to the north designed to accommodate flood water. Dressed granite corners are present on the wide central rubble pier and the abutments. This is a pleasing and simple structure that follows the principle of a 'clapper bridge'.
