Description
South Edge and The Nook are two adjoining cottages, originally three cottages, that date back to the 18th century. They feature painted cob walls and a wheat-reed thatched roof, with brick chimneys located over the gable ends and an axial chimney situated between the cottages towards the left (south). Each cottage was originally designed with a one-room plan; however, South Edge now has one room while The Nook has two rooms. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window east front, with a conservatory in the center. There are sash windows on the first floor and to the left and right of the conservatory on the ground floor. The original entrances are all located within the conservatory, and the left and right-hand cottages have 20th-century windows where doors were previously positioned. The interior is quite simple, featuring side-bead moulding on the beams.
