Description
The lych gate, located at the north-west of the Church of Saint Feock, was built around 1900 as a memorial to Thomas Philpotts, who served as the vicar of the parish from 1844 to 1874. It features granite walls and a dry Delabole slate roof with projecting eaves and verges. The roof is adorned with pierced arcaded clay ridge tiles and a central cruciform finial. The structure is square in plan, with side walls that have moulded granite jambs and engaged shafts, topped with moulded corbelled kneelers. Inside, there are granite side benches and a central coffin-shaped coffin rest.
