Description

These are two early 19th-century town houses, now used as shops. The front of number 4 has incised stucco on a timber frame, though the front facing the street is likely cement render. Number 5 has an original scantle slate roof with grouting, while number 4 has an asbestos slate roof. A brick end stack is present.

The buildings have a shallow plan that was altered when they were converted into shops. The three-story front elevation has two windows. It is characterised by terminal quoin strips. Number 4 has sash windows with copied glazing bars within shallow reveals. Number 5 has late 19th-century, horned, four-pane sash windows within moulded architraves. 20th-century shop fronts are present.

The interiors of the shops have been altered in the 20th century, but the remainder of the building has not been inspected.
