PELYNT SX 25 SW 7/150 Limekilns 600m to north of - Watergate

II

Limekilns, now disused, Circa early C19. Stone rubble with pointed brick arches to openings. Rectangular plan; built into side of slope to rear. Comprises 4 pointed brick arches to openings, 2 on front wall and 1 in either side wall. Brick lined reveals. Grates and flues intact. Overgrown track to left leads to top of kilns originally affording access for top loading. Lime was probably unloaded at Drefring Quay (23405453). Located on Tithe Apportionment Map, 1840.
