Description

This is a tomb chest located 7 meters east of the south aisle of the Church of St Denis in Otterham, dating from 1710. It commemorates Peter Prest, who died in 1710, his wife Alice (also 1710), and their son William, who passed away in 1721. The tomb chest is made of slate stone rubble and features a rectangular shape with a slate lid. It has a marginal inscription in upper case lettering, along with a verse and dedication in the central panel that includes both upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
