Description

Oak House is a vicarage that has been converted into a private home, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with hipped ends and deep overhanging eaves, along with rendered brick axial stacks. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance, with the main rooms located at the front and on the left side, overlooking the garden, while service rooms are situated at the rear right.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front, which includes a central 19th-century porch with raised corner pilasters and a moulded cornice. The porch features a 20th-century 15-pane window in the front wall and a 20th-century door in the left-hand side wall. It is flanked by what are likely 20th-century 12-pane windows, with a similar 12-pane window above on the first floor to the left, and 19th-century 12-pane sashes in the centre and to the right. To the right, the service wing has 19th-century 12-pane sashes on both the ground and first floors.

The left side elevation, which faces the garden, also has a symmetrical three-window arrangement, with a central canted bay that is set forward. There are three 19th-century 12-pane sashes on the ground floor and three above. At the rear, the vicarage overlooks the church and features a canted bay on the right side, with 19th-century 12-pane sashes on both the ground and first floors. A shallow 20th-century porch has been added across the ground floor to the left. The interior is not accessible for inspection.
