Description

Lower Trenowin Farmhouse is a circa late 17th or early 18th century farmhouse. It is constructed of rendered front, likely granite rubble, with a scantle slate roof and granite gable stacks, with the eaves probably heightened in the 19th century. The building originally had a three-room L-shaped plan, with a larger room likely functioning as a hall or kitchen to the left and a parlour to the right, connected by a through passage. A later kitchen wing was added at right angles behind the left-hand room, and a lean-to was added behind the middle and right of the house. The two-storey south front has a near-symmetrical appearance with three window bays, and a doorway slightly right of centre. A 20th-century door and glazed porch/conservatory feature on the front. The windows are square openings with circa late 19th century 6-pane horned sashes. The interior was not inspected. A circa 17th century socketted gate post lies nearby.
