Description

This is a Gothic arch located in the garden of number 5, Longacre, which is not included in the listing. The arch dates from around 1400 and was formerly the west window of the Lord Mayor's Chapel. It was removed in 1822 and re-erected in 1823. The structure is made of limestone ashlar and Pennant rubble. It features an 8-light Perpendicular tracery window set in a two-centre arch, flanked by octagonal rubble piers, each with a 2-light lancet. The eastern pier has a crocketed octagonal finial, while there is a rubble arch to the west and arched steps leading up to the arch.
