Description

Blaise Manor, formerly known as Henbury Hill House, is a house that has been converted into a nursing home. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and features a rendered exterior with limestone dressings, although the roof is not visible. The building has a double-depth plan and is designed in the late Georgian style, standing three storeys high with a four-window range.

The front of the manor is symmetrical, featuring a first-floor plat band, a cornice, and a parapet. A central porch is supported by a pair of square columns and has an entablature with a shallow pediment. This porch is flanked by narrow 4/4-pane side sashes and leads to a two-leaf door, while plain 6/6-pane sashes are used throughout. On the left side of the building, there is an early 19th-century D-shaped bay window, and a four-storey stair tower with rusticated pilasters and a segmental-arched recess.

Inside, the manor has a central hall that features a large stone imperial staircase with round balusters and square newels. The ceiling is decorated with plaster divisions, and there are six-panel doors and panelled shutters throughout.
