Description
Old Chapel Buildings is a chapel that has been converted into offices, built in 1857 by W Butterfield. The structure is made of coursed, squared Pennant stone with limestone dressings and features a slate roof. It is designed in the Middle Pointed Gothic Revival style. The east window has three lights and is set under a hoodmould, above a small buttress, with stepped copings and octagonal pinnacles above the eaves. The north side has nine narrow lancets arranged in three groups, separated by buttresses, with a central door under a hood. The south side mirrors this layout, with a door at the eastern end. The west front features a bellcote gable with a central projecting bay for the doorway, which has a weathered top. The pointed door has wide, chamfered reveals, and there is a thin window above it with a trefoil head, along with a trefoil light above that. The building also has angle buttresses and scrolled coping kneelers. The interior was modified around 1990 to accommodate office space.
