Description
The sundial and pump located in the middle of the green at Blaise Hamlet was built in 1815. It is constructed from Pennant stone and limestone ashlar and features a square plan. The base includes a plinth with a lion head and a water pipe, which sits above a Pennant basin. The shaft is chamfered and square, topped with a lantern head. One side of the sundial displays the sundial itself, while the other faces feature heraldic panels. At the very top, there is a bronze flag. This sundial was erected by J.S. Harford Jr. as a central feature of Blaise Hamlet, contributing to the area's significant picturesque design and planning.
