Description
Jersey Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was originally two separate homes and was remodeled in the early 19th century. It features painted rubble walls, a pantile roof, and brick gable and ridge stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two stories tall with a four-window range. The doorway, which is the second from the left, has four vertical panels and a braced, pitched canopy above it. The windows are two-light casements with horizontal bars, and there are first-floor eaves dormers on the outer windows, each with brick tympana. At the rear, there are 19th-century extensions. Inside, there is a through passage and beams with deep chamfers and stops in the front right room. There is also some evidence of a winder stair beyond the middle fireplace.
