Description

A pair of attached houses dating from around 1860, located on Rockleaze in Sneyd Park, Bristol. The houses are built of snecked Pennant rubble with limestone dressings and brick details, featuring stone gable and ridge stacks and a tile roof. They have a double-depth plan and are designed in a Free Gothic style. The houses are three storeys high, with an 8-window front. Full-height bows are present at each end, topped with a pierced balustrade. Entrances are located in the side elevations. The windows have semicircular arches constructed with alternating brick and stone voussoirs, with brick patterned tympana, and contain plate-glass sashes. Three windows are within each bow, and four are between the bows. The end blocks incorporate doorways with granite shafts to the semicircular arches and stained glass overlights. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
