Description

A pair of attached houses dating from around 1835, located on Eastfield Road in Westbury On Trym, Bristol. The houses are constructed of stucco with limestone dressings, feature a brick ridge stack, a tiled hipped roof and a slate-roofed verandah, and are based on a double-depth plan. They are built in an Italianate style, with each house arranged over three storeys and featuring a four-window arrangement. Each house has pilasters and deep, overhanging boxed eaves. The semicircular-arched doorways on the end elevations have mid-19th-century canopies supported by brackets. A verandah with octagonal columns fronts the ground floor, incorporating French windows. The first-floor windows are 6/6-pane sashes, while those on the second floor are 3/6-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected. This group value context highlights the houses' contribution to the streetscape.
