Description
35 Westbury Hill is a house located in Westbury On Trym, dating from the early 18th century, with an extension added around 1840. The main structure is rendered, while the extension features snecked rubble with limestone dressings. The building has double-pile hipped roofs covered with pantiles and a double-depth plan that includes a right-hand projecting extension. It stands two storeys tall and has a four-window range. The entrance features a semi-circular doorway with a fanlight, and there are 20th-century sash windows in flush boxes, along with a parapet. The taller 19th-century projecting wing has a three-light ground-floor bay with a balustrade, rounded ends, and thick mullions and transoms, which include stained glass in the upper lights. The first floor has tripartite windows, and there are three-light mullion windows below the eaves. Inside, there is a large central hall with a 20th-century straight-flight staircase, panelled shutters, and 19th-century fireplaces.
