Description

Number 12 is an attached house, now standing alone, built in the late 18th to early 19th century. It features roughcast walls with limestone dressings and has a party wall stack. The roof is tiled but not visible. The house has a double-depth plan and is designed in the late Georgian style, with two storeys and a one-window range. It was originally part of a terrace of six houses, marked by pilaster strips leading to a coping. The left side has a doorway with brackets supporting a small moulded canopy, leading to a six-panel door, the top four panels of which are glazed. The windows have cambered heads with five stepped voussoirs and horned six-over-six pane sashes. To the right, there is a narrow strip of wall that contains a matching, though blocked, doorway. The interior has not been inspected. The property also features an attached front garden wall and spear-headed railings with cast-iron anthemion finials. It was once part of a street with six houses on each side but is now completely enclosed and not visible from the street.
