Description
Number 1, including the Bristol Clipper Public House, is a seed warehouse built around 1880, which was converted into offices and a public house in 1981. The building is constructed of squared Pennant rubble with limestone dressings, and its roof is not visible. It has a rectangular open-plan layout and stands five storeys tall with an eight-window range. The exterior is austere and free of decoration, featuring quoins and a limestone band below the parapet.
There are two segmental-arched doorways that divide the wall into three sections, with a full-height hoist bay between them that has 20th-century glazing. Small segmental-arched windows with plate glass are also present. To the right, there is a three-window range with concrete lintels and late-20th-century black brick mullions, along with a wide doorway beneath the right-hand windows. The Prince Street front has a three-window range, with a 20th-century public house front to the left and a full-height hoist bay above it.
Inside, there are cast-iron columns supporting timber beams.
