Description
Victory Arch is a World War I memorial gatehouse located at Clifton College in Bristol, built in 1922 by Charles Holden. The structure is made of limestone ashlar and squared Brandon Hill Grit rubble, featuring a single-depth plan with two storeys and a two-window range. The gatehouse is symmetrical, with an open two-centre archway that has rubble spandrels leading to the parapet. There are small pedestrian arches on either side and 2-light windows above them. An octagonal stair turret rises at the rear right. The archway includes a quadripartite vault and two-leaf gates that sweep down to the centre. The interior has not been inspected.
