Description
Hillside is a cottage built in the mid-19th century, located on Henbury Road in Bristol. It is constructed from pennant rubble with limestone dressings and features an end stack and a tiled roof. The cottage has a double-depth plan and is designed in a picturesque style, comprising a single storey and an attic with a two-window range.
The front of the cottage is symmetrical, showcasing ashlar jambs and quoins. The doorway has a flat lintel and a plank door with strap hinges, leading to a steep gable porch adorned with openwork barge-boards. The windows are chamfered 2-light designs with leaded casements, while the dormers feature two casements and bargeboards with octagonal pendentives. The stacks have chamfered sides, and the end gables are decorated with bargeboards, with a rear outshut.
Inside, there is a straight-flight stair located to the left of the front room.
