Description
The gasworks perimeter wall, built in the mid to late 19th century for the Bristol Gas Light Company, is made of pennant rubble and ashlar. It forms the perimeter wall on the southeast and northeast sides of the former gasworks and includes an infilled elliptical ashlar carriage arch at the northwest end. This wall is part of the Bristol Gas Light Company's Avon Street works, which opened in 1821. It is recognized as part of the industrial landscape surrounding the St Vincent's Works and its associated walls.
