Description
This is a terrace of four early 19th-century houses located on Jubilee Road in Bristol. The houses are rendered with limestone dressings, have brick party wall stacks, and a pantile roof. They follow a double-depth plan and are built in a late Georgian style, with three storeys and a basement to each. Each house has a single-window range. Pairs of houses have outer doorways with coped parapets. The doorways have semicircular arches, key stones, imposts, plate-glass fanlights, and six-panel doors. Most windows are sash windows in exposed frames; at number 16, the frames are recessed, and the windows have 6/6-pane sashes or are plate glass. Number 12 has been reduced to two storeys. The rear elevations are two storeys high.
The interior of number 12 features an entrance hall with a semicircular arch leading to a dogleg staircase with column newels, a ramped rail, and stick balusters, as well as a winder stair to the second floor and stone fireplaces. A flagged basement and six-panel doors are also present. The terrace is depicted on Ashmead's map of 1826, and the "Jubilee" in the street name may refer to the jubilee of 1810.
