Description
Balston Terrace is a house, now divided into two, dating from the late 18th century and altered in the early 19th century. It features English bond brickwork, gable stacks, and a pantile roof, with a double-depth plan. The building has two storeys and a two-window range. There is a plinth and paired doorways on the left side that replace a former single door, featuring a plain cement-rendered surround and six-panel doors. The left-hand side has a mid-19th century shop front with a cornice and a large three-over-three pane sash window, with segmental header brick arches over six-over-six pane sashes. The left-hand first-floor pair has mid-20th century horned four-over-four pane windows in exposed frames. A three-course plat band is cut away, and there are two arched basement openings in the plinth. The interior was not inspected, and the left-end gable was rebuilt in the mid-20th century.
