Description

This is a late 18th-century house, originally incorporating a shop and printing works. It is now a house again. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork, with a slate roof and a brick end stack. It has a double-depth plan and is three storeys high, with a two-window front. It originally featured a cornice and parapet. A 19th-century shop front, which was noted in the original listing, has been replaced by a late 20th-century shallow bow window with four casements, and a late 20th-century door retaining the original overlight on the right-hand side. The first floor has 6/6-pane sash windows, the second floor has 3/3-pane sashes; all with gauged flat brick arches above. The rear elevation has a single window range with 8/12-pane sashes, displayed in segmental heads. The interior remains uninspected. The building is listed for its group value.
