Description
Church Cottage, formerly known as Church Farmhouse, is a house dating from the mid 17th century, although it was remodelled in the mid 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a double Roman tile roof with coped raised verges. It has one storey and attics, with three stone gables. The windows are 2-light casements with moulded stone mullions from the 19th century, and there are 2- and 3-light casements on the ground floor. A plank door leads into a projecting 19th-century gabled porch. Inside, there is a fireplace in the parlour with a large moulded wooden lintel. The main bedroom features a fireplace with a depressed 4-centred arch lintel, a moulded mantelshelf, and an adjoining stone aumbry.
